GP Extended Hours and GP Out of Hours
The GP Out of Hours service
The GP Out of Hours service, which provides care to those who need urgent medical assistance is available at all times outside core GP hours and is available 24 hours at weekends. Please call 111 to access the service.
Please note that all calls are free to 111 from both landlines and mobiles. Patients’ initial calls will be taken by a 111 call operator using NHS Pathways. In some cases the appropriate 111 clinician may give advice.
If the patient is assessed by 111 to have an urgent medical need, a GP Out of Hours Service nurse or doctor will ring the patient back. If necessary, an appointment will be made at an Out of Hours clinic.
