CCG staff member's fundraising feat

NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group staff member Graham Witter’s annual festive fundraising campaign raised more than £25,000 for the hospice that cared for his late sister.

For the fifth Christmas in a row Directory of Services Support Officer Graham, 23, transformed his family home, farm buildings and garden into a magical winter wonderland in memory of his sister Jessica.

Jessica, who had Cardio-facio Cutaneous syndrome, severe epilepsy and multiple complex health needs, sadly passed away in December 2015.

In memory of her fascination for colour, light and sound, Graham turns his family home at Jack Lane, Weston into a festive light spectacle every Christmas to raise precious funds for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Trentham, Staffordshire.

Graham, awarded Pride of Crewe ‘Community Individual’, said: “My sister used to visit the hospice each year for respite care so mum and dad could have a break – but they also offered many hours of family support. This is my way of saying ‘thank you’ – but also provides a yearly community event which families and the local community absolutely love!

“I’ve now raised more than £60,000 since 2013 – raising £25,870 in 2017 alone.”
