CCG supports colleague's festive fundraising

NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group staff are proud to support colleague Graham Witter’s annual festive fundraising campaign.

For the fifth year in a row Directory of Services Support Officer Graham, 23, has transformed his family home, farm buildings and garden into a magical winter wonderland in memory of his late sister Jessica.

Jessica, who had Cardio-facio Cutaneous syndrome, severe epilepsy and multiple complex health needs always had a fascination for colour, light and sound. She sadly passed away in December 2015.

To honour her memory, Graham turns his home at Carter’s Green Farm, Jack Lane, Weston into a sea of festive lights to raise precious funds for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Trentham, Staffordshire.

Graham, awarded Pride of Crewe ‘Community Individual’, said: “My sister used to visit the hospice each year for respite care so mum and dad could have a break – but they also offered many hours of family support. This is my way of saying ‘thank you’ – but also provides a yearly community event which families absolutely love!

“I’ve raised nearly £40,000 since 2013 – raising £22,680 in 2016 alone.”

This year’s display consists of more animated Christmas silhouette characters and LED lights, Christmas "selfie" head-boards and a vintage ice cream van decorated with festive décor.

The light display will shine bright until Thursday, December 28th (6:15pm-9pm). Entry is by donation.
