Involving local people in our work

In April 2017 NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group published its Communications and Engagement Strategy for 2017-19.

The strategy outlines a commitment to work with local people to develop a new framework for Patient and Public Involvement.

Our aim is to ensure that the opportunities for local people to participate in our work are clear, inclusive, wide and varied.

We recognise the need to be clear about the many ways local people currently participate in our work, explain why things may need to be done differently and involve local people in identifying new ideas and solutions.

We aim to agree a set of principles that will guide how we enable local people to participate in our work and set out a framework which clearly demonstrates how local people are supported to participate in our work.

To achieve this, we want to involve a range of local people and organisations including:

  • Local patient representatives
  • Local patient support groups
  • West Cheshire Patient Participation Group members
  • Local voluntary sector organisations
  • Healthwatch Cheshire
  • Our partner organisations
