CCG staff take part in Chester Christmas tree festival

Staff from the NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are working with partners, patients and carers to sponsor a Christmas tree and decorate it as part of the Christmas Tree-cycled Festival at Chester Cathedral.

This year’s theme is sustainability, which fits with the Transforming Care group motto "sustainable homes not hospitals".

The cathedral festival is a community-focused event and will include 50 trees decorated by local schools and organisations from across Cheshire. Proceeds from the 2019 festival will go to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

The festival opens today (Friday, November 29th), runs until Sunday, January 5th and is open daily. Entry is free of charge, though donations are welcome.

Janette Price, Strategic Lead for the NHS Continuing Healthcare Services, said: "The Christmas Tree Festival is a great opportunity for teams to come together to celebrate the work we’ve achieved over the past year. This is a brilliant community event to be involved in which also supports a local charity.

"Staff, carers, patients and families have worked together to make decorations to decorate the Christmas tree.

"We hope that everyone comes along to the cathedral to take part and enjoy the festival this year."
