Vision and Values

The local NHS and Cheshire West and Chester Council is committed to developing a joined-up health and care system that is safe, affordable and, most importantly, meets the needs of the people of West Cheshire.

We know local people are passionate about NHS and care services – we are too. At a time when demand is rising faster than budgets, we need to do more to protect and improve local services. Continuing with more of the same is not an option – a different approach is required.

In West Cheshire we have a strong track record of working together but we know we can do even better to deliver long-term changes that are backed by investment. Our plans to further join up care in West Cheshire have been carefully thought through, led by clinicians and frontline staff and shaped by the experiences of local people.

Joining up health and care will help the people of West Cheshire live longer, healthier lives at home, or in a homely setting. Patients will be at the centre of all decisions and will receive higher standards of quality and safety.

We think it is important to define the values that guide the way we work. We worked with our member practices and staff to establish our values which are outlined below.

These values define our organisational standards and behaviours, guide our decision making and help to shape the culture of our organisation:

  • We are open, transparent and accountable to our patients, carers and local community
  • We are honest and professional with everyone we work with
  • We listen and learn and are willing to change based on what we hear
  • We respect and care for patients, staff and all those that we work with
  • We work in partnership to achieve our goals

In support of the Clinical Commissioning Group's organisational values we developed a Team Charter to define the behaviours we expect to see within our organisation, demonstrated towards our colleagues and that we will demonstrate to our patients, the public and our partners.
